Learn the full moon month names with this printable spinner wheel craft for kids

Perfect for a moon study topic or if you follow the ENWC curriculum for moon week

Make your own cool wheel spinner to display, learn and follow the traditional names for the year's full moons. Use the blank wheel to let children create their own moon names and pictures based on local nature. There are alternative moon images to cut and use too, as there are so many variations of the moon names around the world.

Download, print and cut them out to create your spinner wheel. Join them together using a paper fastener; alternatively, attach them to a metal surface using a magnet.

This spinner is included in all of our Seasonal Moon Packs, and in our Full Moon Names Pack

CONTENTS: Instructions, full moons illustrated wheel, moon spinner front, a blank wheel, and a page of moons to cut out (so you can draw - or cut and stick - your own phases).

Throughout history, humans have followed the moon's phases to keep track of the passing year and for planning hunting, planting, and harvesting. Ancient cultures across the globe have given each full moon a name, traditionally based on plants, animals, or weather occurring that month.

There's one for following the moon phases too: Moon Phases Wheel Spinner

For best printing results, open the PDF using 'Adobe Acrobat' - the reader app is free to download for all platforms. Select paper size 'A4' and a 'fit to page or printable area' option to avoid cropping when printing.
