Watching the year unfold is a gentle printable nature pack for children, designed to help them notice the changing year through simple seasonal observation. It offers an easy, creative way to follow what is happening outside, month by month, from snowdrops and frogspawn to butterflies, blackberries, falling leaves, frost, and birdsong.

This smaller pack works beautifully as a companion to the larger Phenology Wheel Pack in the shop. While the main pack offers a broader guide to phenology wheels with more flexible ways to use them, this child focused version gives younger children a simpler place to begin, with seasonal spotting prompts, space for their own ideas, and colouring pages to enjoy.

At the heart of the pack is the idea of a nature wheel, a circular record of the year that children can fill with the things they spot as the seasons turn. The pack includes a child friendly introduction, seasonal inspiration pages for spring, summer, autumn, and winter, extra space for children’s own observations, one blank wheel template, and two pre-filled wheels to colour in.
